This build was a replacement for the existing portable cabins used for both a community youth club and a day nursery. The new building was designed in a horseshoe shape to provide a safe exterior courtyard for the day nursery along with kitchen, classrooms and WCs all down one side of the building and central courtyard. The day nursery was determined to be the primary use for this building. On the opposite side of the courtyard was a large hall space to provide a meeting room along with space for indoor sports activities. Side doors provided easy access for local children to make use of the complete facility.

The building was constructed over traditional foundations and a ground bearing slab. The single-storey external walls were comprised of facing brickwork on the exterior with an insulated cavity. The internal walls were all constructed from Masterdenz Fairfaced concrete building blocks, which offer an economical solution to undecorated masonry walls. The use of carefully-selected aggregates gave a close texture with a high degree of colour consistency and natural colour. The colour chosen was Buff providing a finished wall unplastered and undecorated. The roof was of pre-formed truss construction and provided space in the roof void for future expansion of the space the building provided. The finished project was deemed a great success in the village and continues to provide space for the children, young and old.
