P A Hollingworth & Co Ltd were contracted to undertake the rebuilding of Fire Damaged Garage to a Grade II listed property.

This project was to firstly carefully demolish the unstable rear wall and set aside and clean as many bricks as possible for reuse. for the re-build of the garage, along with any salvageable ironwork. The foundations and ground bearing slab were then upgraded to meet current regulations and the rear wall rebuilt in approved bricks to match previous. The side and front elevation brickwork were cleaned, re-pointed and repaired from damage caused by the fire. The new cut and pitch roof and the mezzanine floor was constructed as per engineer details, reclaimed Kent peg tiles installed for the roof coverings and larch featheredge cladding installed to the gables.

New heritage cast aluminium rainwater goods were installed and two pairs of bespoke oak garage doors were manufactured to match previous and installed between the structural oak posts.

Feedback:

The architect and client were over the moon with the refurbishment.
