Full Exterior Refurbishment

The goal was to restore the properties original features, including replacement of modern UPVC windows with more traditional timber windows and doors. Partial conversion of the roof space to provide ‘Nanny’ accommodation, including an ensuite.

The property is located in an extreme location on the east coast, just outside Deal in Kent, facing the English Channel, within 400 yards of the high watermark.  Design considerations therefore had to include the potential for extreme weather when considering the replacement windows and doors, and the external decorations to the property.

Careful consideration was also given to the means of access to the attic conversion, and the position and materials used in constructing the staircase, within an existing, fairly grand, stairwell.

We used George Barnsdale for supply of the windows and door.  We have used George Barnsdale for many years due to the quality and performance of their bespoke products.

The staircase was handcrafted in Accoya wood, by local joinery firm North Quay.
