PA Hollingworth was employed to extend, alter internally and completely refurbish the existing property, recently purchased as a family home.
This two-storey detached house believed to have been built about 1930 is fully rendered with a roughcast finish and Crittal windows to the original house and then a more modern 2-storey extension to the rear.
These existing new extensions were demolished at the start of the project due to subsidence in the structures, which made way for the erection of a new single-storey rear extension and a two-storey side extension. Further extensive demo and structural alterations within the existing property included a new front dormer window to facilitate a new loft conversion, structural alterations to move the location of the new oak staircase that continued into the loft conversion, several internal structural alterations to open up living spaces and create new openings to change the general flow within due to moving the front entrance of the property.
The home has been re-roofed salvaging a high rate of the original Kent peg tiles for re-use, all new windows and doors and more modern bifold doors into the new kitchen extension. The grounds of the property have largely remained untouched apart from forming several patio areas around the home and installing a new foul and surface water drainage system. Our PA Hollingworth Electrical team have also installed a new Solar PV system to maximise the extensive existing roof. Inside, we have completely stripped back the property, uncovering and restoring some of its original features, re-wired, installed a new heating system, and added bathrooms and a new kitchen and utility room. We have restored several of the original timber floors and with our in-house stone mason team, we have constructed several of the new fire surrounds and restored other fire openings throughout the home.
This newly refurbished property sat within a 360 garden and was completed in early 2023 for the new family owners and we wish them happy memories in their new home.

“Hi Jamie. Thank you very much for all your dedication, hard work and putting up with our nonsense. You have definitely guided us through the house rebuilding process, giving us your support and unfettered advice. This has been much appreciated and very welcome. This is not the end, only getting to the end of our current build. We wish you success in your next project and we, if you accept, look forward to our continued friendship!”
