P A Hollingworth & Co Ltd were contracted to undertake the exterior refurbishment of a tired block of leaking flats.
The property is situated on the seafront in Hythe and subject to extreme weather as storms blow in off the sea. The work consisted of extensive asphalt roof terrace repairs and laying of new paved terraces, removal of the existing tired white UPVC cladding and its replacement with new Marley Eternit Cedral-Click cladding which looks great, wall tie replacement and extensive re-pointing of brickwork followed by a coating of Storm Dry to limit water penetration through the outer skin of brickwork. Replacement of failed cavity trays over several windows and a good clean down of the elevations leaving the building looking new and uplifted. The works required an enormous amount of access scaffolding and planning to ensure the safety of both construction staff, visitors and residents and great care were taken to maintain good relations with all the residents affected by our works.
Feedback:
We have, on behalf of our Clients, recently engaged P.A. Hollingworth & Co Ltd (Building & Electrical Contractors) on several projects in the South East of England, including this one in Hythe, and their performance on each project has been of a very high standard. Their attention to constructional details has been excellent and we have found them to be extremely co-operative. We will certainly consider them for any forthcoming projects.
