Chatham House Grammar School, Ramsgate

Goal:

External & internal uplift and refurbishment of both Houses, including replacement of all roofs, restoration of stone work, windows and brickwork. Redecoration of exterior and partial refurbishment and decoration of various internal rooms.

Installation:

Extensive access scaffold has been required on this project and has been provided by local sub-contractors All Access. (Great Job, Sam).  The scaffold incorporates hoist arrangements to enable large amounts of roofing material to be lifted into place and a relocatable temporary roof which enables us to strip roof coverings, effect repairs and re-cover despite any possible inclement weather.

All the exterior stone work is being restored and cleaned without destroying the patina which has taken over 100 years to create. The brickwork is also undergoing extensive restoration with all damaged bricks being cut out and replaced and large areas of the elevations re-pointed to match the original.

All windows, and there are over 400, are being restored, draft excluders added, broken glass replaced, timber and steel repairs, replacement furniture as required, all sourced to match the existing, and redecorated inside and out.

Extensive Internal refurbishment including decorations, plaster repairs, and replacement floor coverings.

Total contract term 9 months (Expected completion Early November 2016)
